Opening the Gates of the Heart: A Journey of Healing

Today on Family Talk Radio our special guest is: Carolyn CJ Jones.

During the past decade, award-winning author & photographer Carolyn CJ Jones has evolved from  living on a sailboat to landlubber, married to single, nurse to author, photographer, and publisher, drinking herself into oblivion every night to sober, and from living  and traveling in a van she renovated, to landlubber.

During the time spent in her van, Carolyn photographed dozens of gates, producing hundreds of images, some of which are showcased in her book Opening the Gates of the Heart: A Journey of Healing.  

This book has received two Honorable Mentions - one for photography/art from the 2010 San Francisco 

Book Festival, and one for spirituality from the 2010 New York Book Festival. Additionally, it is the recent winner for poetry in the 2010 DIY  Book Festival. 

In addition to photographing gates, Carolyn photographs magical and vibrant images of light as it is shined through cut-glass. Several of these abstract have won awards, and some have been published. The most notable award was First Prize from Guest Gallery’s online juried show, for the image Down the Straightaway.
