Much controversy exists over the meaning of the term at hand. Does this term mean imminent, soon and about to come to pass? Or, does it mean something far, far away? Can it stretch for centuries and yet be considered at hand? Can it mean at hand and not at hand at the same time?
How is a text to be interpreted? Can we truly find the meaning of the text by the mere words without considering the context? Does this do justice to the word of God? Some are claiming this is the case. They believe "at hand" is elastic and can cover centuries.
