ENVISION THIS: People from both sides and the concerned world standing up in a war-zone to declare “We refuse to be enemies!

The people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world are the ones who do.”  So says our guests, Sabine Lichtenfels and Sami Awad , whom we are interviewing from the Westbank.   50 Israeli and Palestinian peace workers have set up in the midst of the current fighting.  They are putting their lives on the line in support of a peaceful settlement to the violence exploding that has killed more than 700 people with 100 children amongst them.

Due to the extensive bombing of even schools, mosques, hospitals and private homes people can no longer find protection or shelter. Hatred, fear and anger are at a peak in the whole region.  In this turbulence, peace workers from Israel, Palestine and other countries are holding a five-day vision camp in the Westbank. In the middle of the war they hold a peace vigil and create a frequency of calmness in which mutual perception, sharing, deep listening, clear thinking and vision building is possible. They say, "Together we can give a clear sign to end the war."

Sabine is founder of the Vision Camp, co-founder of the Peace Research Centre Tamera in Portugal, theologian, and pilgrim in the name of Grace. She initiated the RING OF POWER-A GLOBAL SPIRITUAL NETWORK OF PEACE, a spiritual- political meditation network. Sami Awad is Executive Director of Holy Land Trust.
