If you grew up in the 60's and 70's, besides growing up on a steady diet of horror, sci-fi and Horror Hosts, you were also treated to the television debut of many of the best giant monster, or "kaiju" films that the genre had to offer. Whether it was "Giant Monster week" on the afternoon 4:30 movie which included Godzilla and Gamera films, , the Black Friday Godzilla marathons, the "Ultraman" TV show or the theater premieres of the "Monster Zero" and "War of the Gargantuas" double feature, "Destroy All Monsters" the 1969 re-release of "King Kong vs. Godzilla," "King Kong Escapes," or "Yog Monster From Space," these were the films that defined our childhood. Tonight we'll talk about the summers we spent in the cool comfort of the theater watching the heated kaiju action.
