30 years ago, with much bally-hoo and hoopla, the greatly anticipated "Batman" film by Tim Burton was released. It broke box office records and made all the fans of the 1966 TV show, feel all warm and fuzzy inside. It took many of us back to our childhoods and memories of the first live action Batman TV series, that brought the comic to life for many of us who were too young to remember the chapter serials in 1943 and 1949. Three years later, the sequel "Batman Returns" was released and once again took us down that road of nostalgia, bringing to life two more iconic Batman villains. Another three years past and Robin is introduced to the group with yet again two more of Batman's rogue's gallery. Finally, in 1997, the series came to an end with what many felt was the worse of the series and the reason it was terminated. Tonight we will take a look at all four of these films and their impact on comic culture.
