Fred Altvater and Carlos Torres once again check-in the world of golf to bringing you the latest news, insight, analysis, interviews, recaps and previews.

On The Weekend Backspin, they’ll recap Darren Clarke’s Captain’s picks for the European Ryder Cup team; how Patrick Reed played a solid and smart last round at The Barclays and with that he earned the win and the final automatic spot for the US Ryder Cup team; Ariya Jutanugarn bouncing well from injured knee at Rio and capturing the CP Classic; Bernhard Langer remains ageless as he took the Boeing Classic in a playoff for his 29th Senior title; Thomas Pieters did all he could to qualify for the Ryder Cup winning the Made in Denmark; and Ryan Brehm winning the WinCo Foods and securing a PGA Tour card.

On The Par-5 News, they’ll talk about the Caddies get their own Ryder Cup at Mohegan Sun…well kind of; the last three hours of the Tour Championship will be ad-free; Mav McNealy and Leona Maguire win Top US Amateur honors; Kuala Lumpur course, site of CIMB Classic, joins TPC network; and prosecutors drop charges against Robert Allenby for latest escapade.

The PGA Tour and the R&A will be working on simplifying the rules of golf, with hope of growing the game. On The Practice Range, they will give you a complete analysis on whether this is good, bad, will it change anything, and the possible impact.

And finally, our Very Important Guest (VIG) of the Week, will be Amy Lillibridge, who is the Director of Alumni and Annual Giving for Evans Scholars.
