This week, we will be interviewing special guest Omar Dahi. Omar is a Syrian economist and political analyst currently teaching at Hampshire College. We will discuss the current social, economic and ecological state of affairs in the Middle East, and how these underlying factors define the current politics of the region, from the Arab Spring to the Libyan Winter and beyond. We will also discuss another area of our guest's expertise - the increasing economic integration of the countries of the global South, and how this is effecting and defining the dynamics of the capitalist world-system in the 21st century
