In the early 80's HIV was introduced to the masses and to-date more than 70 million people have been infected and about 35 million people have died. Yet, the amount of ignorance, stigma, and shame related to infection is ever present. Many have no idea how the virus is transmitted and some still view it as a 'gay disease'. Those living with HIV fear being outed and will even avoid getting into care. It is time for a change. It is time for heightened awareness. Let's talk.
