The concept of a “Beloved Community” was introduced by the late Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. It had five pillars to its philosophical construct: 1. Zero tolerance for Poverty, Hunger, and Homelessness 2. Elimination of Prejudice and Discrimination 3. International Standards for Quality of Human Life 4. Economic and Social Justice in society, and 5. Resolving Conflict Peacefully through Non-violent Means.  In many ways the challenges that face constituents of the 21st senatorial district of Tennessee is related to the utopian aims of the creation of a beloved community as envisioned by Dr. King.  Join the CONSENSUS CANDIDATE, Rueben Dockery as he discusses introduction of this concept as a model for bringing all constituents together as a unified senate district.
