Likumbi Lya Mize

The Likumbi Lya Mize festival starts this week with a fundraising Dinner dance at the Intercontinental Hotel in Lusaka ,Friday 19th August 2011. Then on Wednesday the 24th of August 2011, the makishi will resurrect from the graveyard on the Zambezi East Bank who will proceed to cross to the Zambezi West Bank. This flamboyant procession is then followed by a variety of traditional dancing. The festival hits peak on Saturday.
