A Well To Do Woman Ministrieshttp://www.blogtalkradio.com/devriprattTUNE IN THURSDAY NIGHT'S LIVE AT 11 P.M. EST! A Well To Do Woman with Pastor Dr. Devri Pratt, D.D. a life coach, teacher, and motivator will discuss life issues, spirituality, and relationships. A Well To Do Woman, features various guests that includes, artists, authors, celebrities, consultants, pastors, poets, public speakers, small business owners and other influential guest from all walks of life who will address the common and uncommon issues real people face or are facing. When listening in to the "Well To Do Woman’s" Ministries, it is my expectation that each listener be empowered, inspired, and challenged to grow in Kingdom precepts and enlightened in understanding. It is my endeavor to discuss real life issues from a spiritual perspective. The gospel approach will be a holistic one. We will be addressing spiritual, psychological, and physical topics. For in these perilous times we need to know the power of the Kingdom of God, Christ Glorified. We serve a living Savior who gave us a living word. Through His word we have the VICTORY. We want to move from being principled in word only to being principled in both words and actions. It’s time for us to mindshift from old ineffective traditional cycles and move into an effective spiritual paradigm shift, where we experience what God yearns for each of His children, to move from one glorious experience to the next in Him. This is a "New Day" and as Kingdom heirs we take full ownership of it! Matthew 10:8 "Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, and raise the dead, cast out demons. Freely you have received, freely give."enCopyright Devri Pratt (C/O Blogtalkradio)Sun, 16 Jun 2019 00:00:00 GMTFri, 30 May 2014 03:00:00 GMTSpiritualityBlogTalkRadio Feed v2.0https://dasg7xwmldix6.cloudfront.net/hostpics/111e7477-4bef-4f9d-b709-706289fbc3b7_48678_1696828993_905641023_n.jpgA Well To Do Woman Ministrieshttp://www.blogtalkradio.com/devriprattTUNE IN THURSDAY NIGHT'S LIVE AT 11 P.M. This elect champion found himself rejected by his friends and fellow countrymen, and at the same time violently opposed by his enemies. In faith in God he battles for his appointed place, and in due time he obtains it in such a way as greatly to display the power and goodness of the Lord. He then goes up to the house of the Lord to offer sacrifice, and to express his gratitude for the divine interposition, all the people blessing him, and wishing him abundant prosperity. This heroic personage, whom we cannot help thinking to be David himself, broadly typified our Lord, but not in such a manner that in all the minutiae of his struggles and prayers we are to hunt for parallels. Are you a true father? Do you understand that your role involves responsible and loving work within your family? Yes, work!—because the job of a true father takes hard, dedicated work. A Father’s Work As a father, you must be the major influence in your children’s life. A father must not wrap himself up in his work, hobbies or sports. Be careful, as it is easy to get involved in various outside activities to the detriment of your family. Remember when you got married, you vowed to take on certain specific responsibilities; these must rise above your personal preferences. Regardless of secular opinions, the Bible teaches that a father’s role is to be the loving head of his home—the leader of his wife and children—the strong foundation upon which they stand. Fathers, do not allow yourselves to be the cause of the destruction of family integrity. Lead by example. Teach your family to have respect for each other. Ask yourself if your children could one day say, “The greatest gift I ever had came from God—that gift was my dad.” You can be that great gift, with time and effort. He changed the way that they thought and behaved. It is the same today. People knew that they needed Jesus' help. They needed to know how to please God. They were not happy with the way that they lived. They understood that Jesus could give them hope and freedom instead of failure. Crowds came to hear him (Luke 15:1). Jesus let them stay for a short time, and he taught them. But many *Pharisees, who were the leaders of the Jewish religion, did not like this (Luke 15:2). Daniel honored God, his king and others. Because of this, God blessed him to the point that some officials were jealous. The other princes knew that the only way to accuse Daniel was to find some way to attack his faith. They tricked King Darius into passing an unjust law that made it illegal to pray to anyone but the king. Daniel knew the law, but more importantly, he knew his God. He continued to pray openly to his source, even with the threat of death. As soon as King Darius heard the accusations, he knew he had messed up. Daniel faithfully served his God and the blessing that was on Daniel's life brought favor to Darius' entire kingdom. King Darius desperately sought a way out, but he was trapped by his own foolish law. As Daniel was sent to the lions' den, the king made a bold confession of faith when he declared, "May your God, whom you worship continually, rescue you." (Daniel 6:16) The king retired and spent a sleepless night fasting. He knew Daniel was innocent and he set aside all logic and believed that Daniel's God would protect such an honorable man from the lions. The next morning the king rushed to the den to see that his and Daniel's faith had been rewarded. The lions had not been hungry all night - the result of a God who honors those that put there trust in Him. King Darius made sure that the lions' patience was rewarded. He arrested all the princes that had accused Daniel and tossed them into the lions' den, giving the lions a mighty feast. What Now! Tearing Down Strongholds JESUS Way II I think too many people make strongholds out to be a complex subject. Strongholds are merely incorrect thinking patterns. They are patterns in our minds that are programmed to think contrary to the truth. For example, a common scenario is where a person feels dirty, guilty and is shameful of their past. They are so used to thinking about their past, that it's driven the person to think and feel like a failure! They feel unworthy to have a close intimate relationship with God, which greatly affects their spiritual strength, faith, and relationship with Him. No wonder Satan tries to build such strongholds in our minds! So how does Satan build these strongholds? He starts by reminding us of our past failures and sins. He brings up things that we ought not to be dwelling upon, and tries to make us agree with him on how badly we failed. We then have the choice to listen and agree with him, or listen to God's Word (which is telling us that those sins have been washed away). If we take the devil's bait and begin to mediate on our failures, it will begin to pull us down spiritually and strongholds will develop. We will begin to see ourselves as failures because we've taken the bait and chose to meditate on a lie that the devil has fed us! John 9:2, Ephesians 6:17, and 2 Corinthians 10:3-5 These are verses that gives us a good idea of how we are to go about tearing down strongholds in our minds. First, since the sword of the Spirit is the offensive piece of our weaponry, it is a great tool for tearing down strongholds. You need to go on the offensive to tear down a stronghold, and the Word of God is the weapon you cannot afford not to use. 01:00:00A Well To Do Woman MinistriesnoPraise,Jesus Help Me,Holy Spirit,Faith,StrongholdsI think too many people make strongholds out to be a complex subject. Did they respond that the disciples were lying,  that Jesus' body still lay in the rock-hewn tomb? No. Did they claim that  the disciples were hallucinating? No. Instead, they bribed the Roman soldiers responsible for guarding the sealed tomb to spread what they knew was a lie. They told them to spread a cover story, to claim that Jesus' disciples had come and stolen His body while they slept, and that they would cover for the soldiers if they got in trouble with the Roman governor.            This was the best excuse the authorities could come up with to explain why Jesus' body was missing and could not be found!  Here we have evidence from the very enemies of Christ that His tomb was empty. The best rationale they could come up with they knew to be a lie. There is no other explanation for how the tomb became empty except that Jesus was resurrected bodily and left the tomb.  On multiple occasions and under various circumstances individuals and groups of      people saw Jesus alive after His resurrection, knowing that He had died.    Assurance of Jesus’ resurrection We can be assured that the length of His entombment that Jesus gave as proof He was the Messiah was exactly as long as He foretold. Jesus rose precisely three days and three nights after He was placed in the tomb.  Because most do not understand the biblical high days Jesus Christ and His followers kept, they fail to understand the chronological details so accurately preserved for us in the Gospels. 01:05:00A Well To Do Woman MinistriesnoPraise,Jesus Help Me,Holy Spirit,Faith,Do Not Give UPWhat was the reaction of Jesus' enemies to the disciples' stunning declaration that   Jesus was alive again after having been publicly executed?            TThe Living Dead Churchhttp://www.blogtalkradio.com/devripratt/2011/04/15/it-is-well-with-my-soulReligionhttp://www.blogtalkradio.com/devripratt/2011/04/15/it-is-well-with-my-soul/#commentshttp://www.blogtalkradio.com/devripratt/2011/04/15/it-is-well-with-my-soulFri, 15 Apr 2011 01:00:00 GMTThe Living Dead Church The Church of today is very much like the church in Sardis, of whom the Lord said (Revelation 1:1-20). And it isn't because we see miracles taking place so often that we no longer are sensitive to their meaning. It's because our speech has evolved in such a way that today, if I got to work on time this morning, "It was a miracle that I made it, seeing that there was so much traffic on the freeway." A biblical model and definition, on the other hand, for a miracle is another thing all together. Not everything hard to believe can be quantified as a miracle according to scriptural standards. Miracles are those acts that only God can perform; usually superceding natural laws. Baker's Dictionary of the Bible defines a miracle as "an event in the external world brought about by the immediate agency or the simple volition of God." It goes on to add that a miracle occurs to show that the power behind it is not limited to the laws of matter or mind as it interrupts fixed natural laws. So the term supernatural applies quite accurately. 2 Kings 20:1-6/2 Kings 21:1-15, Mark 5:21-43/Mark 10:27, 2 Corinthians 8:7-15 and 2 Corinthians 12:9, John 14:6 01:06:00A Well To Do Woman MinistriesnoMiracles,Still,Happen,Faith,BelieveThe term "miracle" has lost much of its luster in our day. Tranquility? Peace? Or perhaps an obligation? Usually, many of us use prayer when we want God to give us something or to meet a need. At times we convert our prayer time into a “give me, give me,” instead of using it for adoration. Prayer is a special time that we must dedicate to be in the presence of God. Jesus Christ saw the need to take time to be in the presence of God the Father in prayer (Luke 5:16; Matthew 14:23). He serves as a role model for us, and we must imitate His example. Prayer is a time to worship God; it is a time to dwell in His presence and to humble ourselves before Him with worship and petitions. Prayer is a time to communicate with Him, to have communion with Him, to confess our sins, to remain calm and listen to God as we meditate on His Word. Prayer is a time where we stop being selfish and we concentrate on supplication and intercession for others. Prayer is a privilege that we, the believers, have to talk with our heavenly Father based on the sacrifice done on the cross by His Son Jesus Christ. There are requirements to be able to pray! We must come before God with clean hearts and free of sin (John 9:31; Matthew 5:23,24), crying to God in the name of Jesus (John 16:23,24), and knowing Jesus Christ as our personal Savior (1 John 5:11,12). Prayer is strength that we as Christians have to cry out to God through our Lord Jesus Christ. The Holy Spirit lets us know when we are tempted and when we sin (John 16:7,8) and gives us strength to remain free of sin. Prayer strengthens us, brings us closer to God, and helps us depend more on Him. Prayer helps us experience the presence of God. 1 Kings 2:3-4 1 Kings 8:1-61 01:19:00A Well To Do Woman MinistriesnoPray,Jesus Prayed,Holy Spirit,Answers,His WillWhat does prayer represent for you? The Widow Woman Who Borrowed On Purpose Please note the emphasis here in: As earthen vessels, we must empty ourselves of wrong mental attitudes, priorities, pursuits, or goals, and present ourselves as vessels of God to be filled (controlled) by the word and the Spirit of God. If our lives are cluttered with bad mental attitudes, with grumbling, with selfishness, preoccupation with the things of the world and there is indifference to God’s work, God may stop the supply of oil. And one reason the supply is stopped is that believers stop coming to Him. Carnal believers do not seek the cause of God and the supply of God, they are too caught up with their own world. I believe this must begins with an evaluation of our own stewardship of giving, believing God that our giving will not be our lack. This means evaluating our own use of the funds God has allowed us to have. We need to begin with the oil we have individually and corporately. But this also means in addition to our own financial responsibilities with the oil we have, looking to God to supply from other sources according to the wealth of His might, if that is what is needed. We must not turn this around and ignore the responsibility we have with our resources. It is our responsibility to ask God to multiply those resources for the purpose of greater giving and not simply pray for a miracle. In other words, we can’t simply pray for God to supply the oil, and ignore our responsibility to use the oil we have. We must first take the oil we have, trust God to multiply it, and then as the Lord supplies, not only pay our debts, and expenses, but give unto the Lord a return on His investment in us. Remember, the oil was a very valuable commodity and stands for the valuable resources God has given us whether talents, spiritual gifts, physical abilities, or financial blessings, etc. Let us not limit the Lord. The American Heritage Dictionary defines love as "an intense affection for another person based on familial or personal ties". Often this "intense affection" stems from a sexual attraction for that other person. We love other people, or we say we love other people, when we are attracted to them and when they make us feel good. Notice that a key phrase in the dictionary definition of love is the phrase "based on". This phrase implies that we love conditionally; in other words, we love someone because they fulfill a condition that we require before we can love them. How many times have you heard or said, "I love you because you are cute;" or "I love you because you take good care of me;" or "I love you because you are fun to be with"? There is much out there that is attractive to human nature and to true Christians, and we can see, despite two thousand years of preaching by the church, the overwhelming majority is still following the broad way. The world makes it seem as though Christianity is an abject failure—an altruistic experience that has gone awry. The world gives every impression that God has either gone far off, and that His whole creation is nothing more than a kind of cosmic joke. Some believe God never really did care, and the creation is a mere plaything of His with no positive, beneficial purpose in mind. Thus, with that kind of approach, if we are lackadaisical, the world can be very persuasive. When viewing the expanse of Christian history, it is not difficult for a carnal person to reach the conclusion that God has good intentions, but that He is frequently disappointed because Satan outwits Him or man thwarts Him. God, then, is frustrated in everything that He tries to do. It is as if He says that He wants to bless men, but they will not let Him. Who with that perspective could take God seriously? It makes it easy to think—and thus to live—as though God really is not sovereign in His creation. We must take these thoughts and questions seriously, yet considering them directly, as we are doing now, we are likely to say that we do not think that way. We think that God is in complete and total control, ruling His creation. We hope and believe that is true. Even so, experience shows that, though we confess this, we sometimes—perhaps often—live and talk as the world does. Who will not think or live that way? Those who really live by faith. For some, it might be a day, for others, might be weeks or even months. While doctors call that phase “Depression”, I call that state of mind “Juniper Day experiences”. You might wonder, where in the world did I get such a definition. In this lesson, I would like to explain that more and help you understand how to overcome those days in our lives. Let us turn our attention to 1 Kings chapter 19. There you see the prophet of God, Elijah fleeing from Jezebel into the wilderness. Now remember, this is the same prophet who prayed and prevented the rain for three and half years. This is the same Elijah who prayed once again and heaven sent rain according to his request. This is the same man of God who performed a great miracle in the Mt. Carmel and showed the difference between the people of God and the people of Baal. At Mt. Carmel, Elijah destroyed 450 prophets of Baal and 400 prophets of Asherah. At his word, God opened tongues of fire from heaven and burned up the sacrifices on the altar even though it was drenched in water. (1 Kings 18:38). Yes, Elijah was truly a mighty man of God. Heavens responded to his requests and he preformed many miracles. It was through him that the Lord spoke to the Nation. But in the book of James, we read that Elijah was a man in our nature. Can you visualise Elijah , just like an ordinary man at Mt. Carmel? To me, he looks like a superhero. In the 19th chapter , you see a different picture of Elijah. He is hiding within a cave in Mt. Horeb. But God strengthened him in that mountain with His presence. Between these two mountain experiences, something happened. There was a phase of discouragement in Elijah’s life a time under the Juniper tree. 01:04:00A Well To Do Woman MinistriesnoPraise,Jesus Help Me,Holy Spirit,Faith,Do Not Give UPWe all go through a phase in life where you feel discouraged, depressed and unworthy. Our Kindred Spirits/Soul Mates, and Spiritual Fellows who Love us, come into our lives to help us remember to protect our well being and take care of ourselves - by setting boundaries and enforcing them, by detaching unhealthy and unproductive relationships instead of just holding on, by standing up for our self and our Truth. We are most valuable to GOD and worth so much to allow abuse, neglect, self hatred, or depression to stop us from being all GOD wants us to be. (The "jerk" that you are holding a resentment against let them go.) I know where you are, say, "they did not do it to me, but for me." Now, it’s all going to work together for my good. Every seventh year was a year of release, in which the ground rested from being tilled and servants were discharged from their services; and, among other acts of grace, this was one, that those who had borrowed money, and had not been able to pay it before, should this year be released from it; and though, if they were able, they were afterwards bound in conscience to repay it, yet thenceforth the creditor should never recover it by law. Many good expositors think it only forbids the exacting of the debt in the year of release, because, no harvest being gathered in that year, it could not be expected that men should pay their debts then, but that afterwards it might be sued for and recovered: so that the release did not extinguish the debt, but only stayed the process for a time. But others think it was a release of the debt for ever, and this seems more probable, yet under certain limitations expressed or implied. It is supposed (v. 3) that the debtor was an Israelite (an alien could not take the benefit of this law) and that he was poor (v. 4), that he did not borrow for trade or purchase, but for the subsistence of his family, and that now he could not pay it without reducing himself to poverty and coming under a necessity of seeking relief in other countries, which might be his temptation to revolt from God. However, when we become impatient, frustrated, worried, or aggravated it is because we are trying to make something happen that only God himself can make happen. Joyce Meyers calls this “human energy attempting to do God’s job.” How many times have you prayed and believed God for a breakthrough in your life to not see anything happen? I have many times. So what are we to do? How are we to act during this time of waiting? Mark 4: 26-28 tells the story of the patient farmer. How do we know he is patient? Because the Word tells us he sowed his seed, then went away sleeping and rising! This does not sound like worrying and fretting to me. Then at the proper time the ground brings forth the promise of the seed – the harvest, the breakthrough! The Farmers job was to do what he knew to do: plant, sleep, rise and do his daily work, then allow the Lord of the Harvest to bring forth the promise. 01:43:00A Well To Do Woman MinistriesnoBreakthrough,Jesus Help Me,Love,Joy,Peace of MindOne of life’s lessons is to wait on God when you need a breakthrough! They were eager to hear about God's people Israel being restored to their God-promised status, land and wealth. They desired to know when this would occur. Jesus answered that knowledge of the timing of this wasn't to be theirs but power was. They were to receive power - not ordinary power but power of the kind God has and exerts; power that not only restores but also creates! Here is the answer then to your questions. This is how things are going to be put right in your life - not by your natural power but by God's supernatural power. Now that you are a Christian you are not to continue on as you always have; you are to continue on in the power of God. Only God's power can bring an enduring restoration of good in your life. Only His power can make wrong things right, produce goodness where there has been ailment and deliverance where there has been oppression. It is by His power that God can bring about restoration in your life and give you a tangible manifestation of His redemption. The Holy Spirit is the One Who brings God's power into your life. It is when the Holy Spirit comes on you that you receive His power. Apostle Paul wrote of this to Timothy, his Spirit-filled son in the Lord. The Turn Toward HopeAll human life is a warfare; the Christian life is the most so; but the struggle will not last always. Troubles are removed in love, when sin is pardoned. In the great atonement of the death of Christ, the mercy of God is exercised to the glory of his justice. In Christ, and his sufferings, true penitents receive of the Lord's hand double for all their sins; for the satisfaction Christ made by his death was of infinite value. The prophet had some reference to the return of the Jews from Babylon. But this is a small event, compared with that pointed out by the Holy Ghost in the New Testament, when John the Baptist proclaimed the approach of Christ. When eastern princes marched through desert countries, ways were prepared for them, and hindrances removed. And may the Lord prepare our hearts by the teaching of his word and the convictions of his Spirit, that high and proud thoughts may be brought down, good desires planted, crooked and rugged tempers made straight and softened, and every hindrance removed, that we may be ready for his will on earth, and prepared for his heavenly kingdom. What are all that belongs to fallen man, or all that he does, but as the grass and the flower thereof! And what will all the titles and possessions of a dying sinner avail, when they leave him under condemnation! The word of the Lord can do that for us, which all flesh cannot. The glad tidings of the coming of Christ were to be sent forth to the ends of the earth. Satan is the strong man armed; but our Lord Jesus is stronger; and he shall proceed, and do all that he purposes. Christ is the good Shepherd; he shows tender care for young converts, weak believers, and those of a sorrowful spirit. By his word he requires no more service, and by his providence he inflicts no more trouble, than he will strengthen them for. May we know our Shepherd's voice, and follow him, proving ourselves his sheep. As disciples, we are not to spend the majority of our time in holy pep rallies, but in the world, touching its hurt and offering it hope in a Jesus who lives in us and can live in them. Jesus accompanies us when we go share that message and go serve those who are broken just as much as he does when we meet together as his people. So let's get out there and give others his message in word and deed. That You Know?: Spiritual Maturity Results From Knowing ChristThe story of God's salvation which Paul proclaims begins here: to make known to the Gentiles that God is for them too! Paul hinted at this earlier when he wrote that God's salvation was for every creature under heaven. But he is more pointed here. Official Judaism would not deny God's universal salvation; after all, Isaiah taught that salvation would extend through one restored nation to all nations. Yet according to the prophet, God's salvation of the Gentile nations depended upon Israel: they would be saved only through and because of the faithfulness of the Jewish nation. Even in Paul's day, Hellenistic Judaism was committed to an evangelism program, seeking to convert and proselytize non-Jews. But Gentile converts to Judaism were second-class citizens both religiously and sociopolitically. In light of this religious tradition, Paul's teaching about Gentile conversion is controversial precisely because it is so egalitarian: believing Gentiles and Jews share God's universal salvation equally in Christ. What may seem impossible for us becomes possible with God's help. Asking God for help is what He wants us to do. When we ask for help in prayer we build our strength. We too have undertaken to do more than we can do in our own strength, if we have purposed to let Almighty God work through us. To accomplish His purposes we must have His power, that power which is available to us through prayer. Would you make the image of Christ in the garden of Gethsemane and Jesus' prayer your theme when you pray? "Not my will, but yours be done." God has promised that if we ask anything according to His will, He will do it. May we daily claim His promises and make this the model for all our prayers. We must never be drawn into sin by anything man can say or do to us; for men can but tempt us to sin, they cannot force us. The approach of Moses turned the dancing into trembling. They were exposed to shame by their sins. The course Moses took to roll away this reproach, was, not by concealing the sin, or putting any false color upon it, but by punishing it. The Levites (i.e., Preacher's, Rabbi's, or Priest's) were to slay the ringleaders in this wickedness; yet none were executed, but those who openly stood forth. When we look to the world, we are perplexed, and at a loss. But on looking to Christ depends our whole salvation, and all things needful thereunto do so also. This poor man, whom no man looked upon with any respect, or looked after with any concern, was yet welcome to the throne of grace; the Lord heard him, and saved him out of all his troubles. They were (chap. 18) to persevere in prayer, the resource, moreover, at all times, of the faithful-of man, if he understand it. God would avenge His elect, although, as to the exercise of their faith, He would, indeed, try it. But when He came, would the Son of man find this faith that waited for His intervention? That was the solemn question, the answer to which is left to the responsibility of man-a question which implies that it could hardly be expected, although it ought to exist. Nevertheless, should there be any faith acceptable to Him who seeks it, it will not be disappointed or confounded. It will be observed, that the kingdom (and that is the subject) is presented in two ways among the Jews at that time-in the Person of Jesus then present (chap. 17:21), and in the execution of the judgment, in which the elect ones should be spared, and the vengeance of God be executed in their behalf. On this account, they were only to think of pleasing Him, however oppressive and at ease the world might be. 01:00:00A Well To Do Woman MinistriesnoGood Morning Spirit,JESUS,Peace,Personal Savior,HelpIn the presence of all the power of their enemies and oppressors (for there would be such, as we have seen, so that they might even lose their lives), there wasAmong the Warriors of GOD: Do Not Give Up!http://www.blogtalkradio.com/devripratt/2010/03/19/god-is-up-to-something-goodReligionhttp://www.blogtalkradio.com/devripratt/2010/03/19/god-is-up-to-something-good/#commentshttp://www.blogtalkradio.com/devripratt/2010/03/19/god-is-up-to-something-goodFri, 19 Mar 2010 03:00:00 GMTAmong the Warriors of GOD: Do Not Give Up!No time should be lost in returning thanks to the Lord for his mercies; for our praises are most acceptable, pleasant, and profitable, when they flow from a full heart. If, when we come off a journey, we find our abode in peace, and not laid waste, as David here found his, let the Lord be praised for it. David's men murmured against him. Great faith must expect such severe trials. But, observe, that David was brought thus low, only just before he was raised to the throne. When things are at the worst with the church and people of God, then they begin to mend. David encouraged himself in the Lord his God. His men fretted at their loss, the soul of the people was bitter; their own discontent and impatience added to the affliction and misery. But David bore it better, though he had more reason than any of them to lament it. They gave liberty to their passions, but he set his graces to work; and while they dispirited each other, he, by encouraging himself in God, kept his spirit calm. As the Word of God is taught to a group of people there are varied responses to it. It is said that it makes some mad, some glad and some sad. The answer is given by the Lord Himself as He sits in a boat anchored on the shore of the Sea of Galilee teaching a multitude of people sitting on the hillside nearby. (v. 1). Jesus was a wise teacher. He knew it was useless to expect simple minds to understand abstract ideas so he used stories from real life to teach spiritual truths they could not understand (vv. 2-3). It is even quite possible that he actually saw someone sowing seed on the hillside nearby and asked them to look. He calls attention to four types of soil the seed will fall in: the hard soil, the shallow soil, the weedy soil and the good soil (vv. 4-8). Whether the seed takes root and grows is dependent on the soil where it is sown. The same is true in hearing the Word of God. The response is dictated by the heart that receives it. If the will is right, the understanding of the teaching will not be a problem (John. 7:17). 01:00:00A Well To Do Woman MinistriesnoGod Loves,Jesus Help Me,Good Morning Holy Spirit,Much More,RelationshipWhy is it that the hearing of the Word of God does not produce the same results in every heart? Phil. 4:19 Have you ever felt so down-and-out that you had to "look up to see the bottom"? It's hard to have faith during such times, when you are plunged into the depths of despair. Yet, it is during those times of deepest discouragement when it's most important for us to exercise our faith. "But I don't feel like exercising my faith," I can hear you saying. "My faith quotient is very low at the moment, and I certainly don't feel like praying." It is in moments like these that we need to sit back and consider what we are saying. Do you want the devil to gain the victory, simply because you don't feel like resisting him? Satan is no dummy. Just when you are in the greatest need of God, the devil will put forth his utmost effort to separate you from help. My help comes from the Lord! If Satan can keep you away from your source of strength, he knows you will walk in darkness and sin. And there is no sin greater than unbelief. "Old Things Are Passed Away; Behold, All Things Are Become New"There is very exciting news to those who choose to accept Christ as their Savior. It means that we are finally able to have a right relationship with Almighty God! Under the old covenant, God's people were required to sacrifice animals to "cover up" for their sins, because God does not tolerate sins. But when Jesus died and resurrected, He initiated a new covenant of reconciliation with God. When anybody believes in Christ Jesus and becomes "friends" with him, he or she becomes completely transformed. No longer is it difficult to please God, because that person thinks like Christ, acts like Christ, and lives like Christ would live. That is one of the greatest breakthroughs of the new covenant - that we are now a "new creation" in Christ. In other words, as a new person, you are no longer subject to the curses of this fallen earth. No more bondage to sin, no sickness, no more poverty, no more depression or oppression. What was once impossible is now possible. Those who are not in Christ cannot experience the fullness of health, prosperity, and divine protection. But thank God, we who are "in Christ" are not like those other people. We are free to live full, meaningful lives, because, as 2 Corinthians 5:17 says, we are "a new creation so our past cannot walk in our futures!" 01:00:00A Well To Do Woman MinistriesnoGod,New,Creation,In,Christ JesusThere is very exciting news to those who choose to accept Christ as their Savior. As he did this with a pious disposition of mind, it was called ministering unto the Lord. He received a blessing from the Lord. Those young people who serve God as well as they can, he will enable to improve, that they may serve him better. Eli shunned trouble and exertion. This led him to indulge his children, without using parental authority to restrain and correct them when young. He winked at the abuses in the service of the sanctuary till they became customs, and led to abominations; and his sons, who should have taught those that engaged in the service of the sanctuary what was good, solicited them to wickedness. It’s a matter of life and death. Sadly, if we don’t understand God’s requirement that we fight only the devil, the DNA of the warrior will still be at work in our lives and it will cause us to fight among ourselves instead. The LORD replies that He is aware, and that He intends to send the Chaldeans to judge Israel for their sin, particularly for their idolatry. Zephaniah is surprised by this, and asks the LORD why it is that He would use a group of people that are even worse to judge Israel. Peter, still doubting, greets his teacher with “Lord, if it is you tell me to come to you on the water.” If it is you? When Jesus grants his request he still doubts. Once Peter realizes what he is doing with Jesus and how fragile his situation is and how little control he possesses over it he begins to doubt again and sink. It’s easy to chuckle and scoff at the disciples. It’s easy to secretly self-congratulate ourselves for having a stronger faith than they. But we are simply arrogant and unwise when we do so. We have the benefit of hindsight. We have the luxury of examining their trials from the comfort of our homes. We didn’t sit through the storm. We didn’t peer out at Jesus through the pounding waves and rising winds from a primitive boat. 01:00:00A Well To Do Woman MinistriesnoLiving,Victorious,In,Christ,LifeIt’s easy to mock the disciples for doubting Jesus. Over and over again, the disciples saw Jesus heal. They saw him raise the dead and cast out demons. It is not that they, but that Jehovah may be praised, specially in His mercy, and then His faithfulness to promise. The godly one, that is, the Spirit, then refers to that cry which was the bitter grief spoken of in Joel, and referred to in Psalm 42, and Psalm 43. Why should the heathen say, Where is now their God? So in the same spirit Moses "the Egyptians shall hear of it, and what wilt thou do to thy great name?" What a blessed boldness of faith! This character of sorrow shows, how it was on the cross and in those last sorrows that Christ came into this character of sorrow. For the Jews practically said this to Him then, but never could have done so before. The believing Israelite's answer is, Our God is in heaven. He then contrasts Him with idols. And Israel, the house of Aaron, and all that fear Jehovah, are called to trust Him. This last would open the door to all Gentiles who sought Jacob's face. It then recites, what we have seen to be the ground these psalms go on, that He had been mindful of, and would bless them; yea, increase them more and more, them and their children. They were the blessed of Jehovah, the maker of heaven and earth. Heaven was His, the earth had He given to men. This marks how distinctly the earthly blessing is the scene before us, for He has not given us the earth, but the cross in it; and heaven, and what is there, as our own things. We seek the things which are above, not the things which are on the earth. So, in even almost a stronger manner, the dead do not praise Jehovah; but we (says the Spirit in them) will praise from this, the time of their final deliverance, for evermore. We say "to depart and to be with Christ is far better." 01:00:00A Well To Do Woman MinistriesnoDeliverance,Victorious,In,Christ,LifePsalm 115 gives the true and full ground of this deliverance as seen in the heart of faith. At times it is heartbreaking, at others, intense and penetrating because it cuts to the heart of our common human experience. Here we meet Naomi, a Jewish wife and mother, who in a short time loses her husband and two sons in death. Life has dealt her a bitter blow and she challenges the goodness of God. The book begins with the sorrow, grief, and bitterness of Naomi and ends with her blessing. One of the major doctrine of this book focuses on how God transforms suffering into blessing, and sorrow into joy. Another closely associated doctrinal theme is God’s covenant faithfulness to individuals and to the nation of Israel. God will demonstrate His great character by preserving Israel’s royal lineage through a period of national apostasy, failure, subjugation, and disaster.01:00:00A Well To Do Woman MinistriesnoFull,Gospel,of,Christ,LifeRuth is one of the most poignant books of the Bible. Even many of the preachers of our day have fallen into the trap of the world by telling people how they can be successful through Christ, without also telling them about the sacrifice that is required for that successful living “Saved by Grace Alone”. It’s not a one-time sacrifice; it’s a DAILY sacrifice. It is the ultimate sacrifice that you can ever make, your very life. Paul wrote to the church at Galatia, "I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me." Galatians 2:20 NIV: The key to living a victorious life in Christ is dying to self, daily. There are some motivational gurus who are selling Christians a message of false hope since the core of their message is that YOU can do it. That is far from the truth in the face of what God's Word says in John 15:5, "Without me, you can do NOTHING!" The lie of the world is that you can do it. And rightfully so because they are true words. Moses prayed and the Red Sea parted. Joshua prayed and the sun stood still. Paul and Silas prayed and their jail cell trembled and shook and their chains fell off. There are times however, when we experience pressure, and it seems that prayer does not change things. We may sense that it’s the ineffectiveness of our prayer life. But the wonderful secret is…after we have prayed and believed, it’s time to praise! Just as a bird has two wings to fly, our faith needs two wings in order to fly….a prayer wing and a praise wing. Both must be fully extended if our faith is going to fly. 2 Chronicles chapter 20 tells a thrilling story about a battle that was won by one means only – praise. King Jehosophat was told that an unholy alliance of three nations was crossing the Jordan river and was coming against him. To handle the trials of life in a biblical manner the believer (“my brothers and sisters”) must first have an attitude adjustment, a complete change of mind-set and mindshift toward those trials. Rather than viewing trials as negative, unpleasant circumstances that need to be avoided at all cost, or to be escaped from as quickly as possible, the believer who wants to mature in his faith needs to view trials from the same perspective that God views them. It is interesting to note that James writes, “whenever you face trials” not “if you face trials.” As a result, even though trials are common experiences that come from living in a fallen world, God has an uncommon purpose in sending the trials our way. Instead of thinking of trials as pure misery, the believer needs to start looking at them as a cause for “pure joy” or literally “all joy”. The joy comes not in the trial, but in the outcome of the trial will be victorious.01:00:00A Well To Do Woman MinistriesnoPain,Prayer,Perseverance,Perfection,VictoryThe Reason for Trials: Perseverance and Perfection (James 1:2-4). WRONG! You can believe something and not have faith in it. A man staggers up to you he is dying of starvation. You put food in front of him, he just looks at it. You say this food will nourish you and keep you alive, Do you believe that? Yes, I believe that. The man just looks at it and then he dies. Why did he die? Because he didn't eat the food. The eating of the food is faith. Faith is acting on what you believe. Many Christians today believe the bible, they believe all of God's promises. However, if they don't have faith and act on the word of God they will not receive all of Gods best that He wants them to have. If they don't have faith they will die just like our man died. They will be sick but not get God's healing. They won't have God's prosperity. They won't have God's peace and contentment. And the worst part is they will never please God without faith. Without faith you can't please God. [Hebrews 11:6] You have to do more than just believe. You have to act on what you believe! You have to act on God's word! And that action is what faith is. The word of God works when you do what it says. 01:00:00A Well To Do Woman MinistriesnoFaith Is Now,Believe,Action,Purpose,HopeMost people think faith and belief are the same thing. WRONG!
