I've had several people warn to me that America can vote in Socialism based on the current Democrats seeking to defeat President Trump. The concern for many is that our higher places of learning have been pushing a Socialistic agenda for years.
As a result, 43% of Americans believe Socialism would be a good thing for the country. This is largely due to those being taught Socialism in American colleges across the United States. I remember the 1984 movie "Red Dawn" that focused on an invasion by the Cubans. Americans were forced into these "Concentration - reeducation camps" to reprogram people. Today, these camps came from no external enemy but from within.
About 51% believe socialism would be a bad thing for the country, primarily those of the older community. How has America shifted on Socialism:
In 1942, about 25% of Americans viewed Socialism as a good thing, today that has grown to the 43% number. College Professors today many were part of the 1970's protesting the Vietnam War and many of the norms of American life.
