I dont want to intimate that NONE of Black America is doing well, and that ALL blacks are in need of being saved. However, generally speaking, Black Americans could do a whole lot better. The overall poverty rate is 12%, Black Americans make up 22%. Other statistics, such as the imprisonment, employment, and education displays that Blacks must do better. What do you think is the reason for all the negative things that are going on within the Black family? This dilemma that people are having about Nate isn't new, there has always been this conundrum amongst people, about whether or not they should support certain artist, entertainers, athletes etc, who have faced certain criminal or moral allegations. Whether it be Bill Cosby, Tupac, Mike Tyson, R. Kelly, Chris Brown, Kobe Bryant, Prince and a host of others, there has always been somewhat of a divide on whether or not the support should stop, due to their personal indiscretions. Even on a more personal level, there are parents who's always preached the "do as I say, not as I do" philosophy. Some people would contend that the message, or entertainment that one provides should not coincide with their personal and moral compass. Others would disagree. What side are you on? Let's talk about it tonight, as we discuss which is more important, the message or the messenger? Also, Blacks are two times more likely to get divorced, than Whites and Hispanics. Why is the true? In 1900 80% of Blacks were comprised of two parents, compared to in the year 2000, only 40% of Black children lived in married households. Why?? What are some things that you see, that's plaguing the union of Black men and women? What do we attribute it to? It has become a "the dead people of my country lives are more important than the dead people of your country" debate. There are people saying that we should not be so concerned about what's going on over there, because we have so many people of color suffering from atrocities everyday, and no one is coming together to stop that. Some are saying that it's a strategic distration tactic, to keep people attention off of things that matter. Some are saying, due to the violent and oppressive nature of France, and Blacks, historically, that we shouldn't be concerned about them. Some have said that, because they support Paris, doesn't mean that they've forgotten other places. Others are very compassionate, and sympathetic, to the point of updating their social media profiles with the French Flag to show solidarity. What are your thoughts about how people are reacting? It's imperative that ALL DEKALB COUNTY residents call-in and voice their concerns about the man who makes the final decison on what happens to the criminals in their county. You have a voice, so please make it count. The United States is the world's leader in incarceration with 2.2 million people currently in the nation's prisons or jails -- a 500% increase over the past thirty years. More than 60% of the people in prison are now racial and ethnic minorities. For Black males, 1 in every 3 is likely to be in prison or jail on any given day. These trends have been intensified by the disproportionate impact of the "war on drugs," in which two-thirds of all persons in prison for drug offenses are people of color. I also hear that slavery CURRENTLY, plays a part in Black men and women socially and economically, I.E. marriage, parenting, unity, support of each other etc. Although slavery(physical sense) has officially been abolished since roughly 1865, do you think it's possible for it to be having an impact?  If so, how?  This thinking is interesting because, post-slavery has been some of the most prominent times for Blacks. Families were together, Black businesses were booming, and they were supported by other Blacks, HBCU's were being founded, musical content was more uplifting and empowering, organizations like The Civil Rights, The NAACP, Black Panthers, Women's Suffrage Group etc, were formed. If slavery has that much of an impact on our social and economic status TODAY, why didn't it affect the people of the early 1900's-mid 1900's in the same way? 02:36:00Darryels Daily DialoguenoBlack Crown Media,Darryel's Daily Dialogue,Darryel's Circle,Blacks,SlaveryOften times I hear that Black people(specifically Black Americans/African-Americans) continues to suffer TODAY, because we don't know our culture, being that evWhat are your thoughts about what's going on Baltimore?http://www.blogtalkradio.com/darryelsdailydialogue-url/2015/04/30/what-are-your-thoughts-about-whats-going-on-baltimoreEducationhttp://www.blogtalkradio.com/darryelsdailydialogue-url/2015/04/30/what-are-your-thoughts-about-whats-going-on-baltimore/#commentshttp://www.blogtalkradio.com/darryelsdailydialogue-url/2015/04/30/what-are-your-thoughts-about-whats-going-on-baltimoreThu, 30 Apr 2015 01:00:00 GMTWhat are your thoughts about what's going on Baltimore? In the midst of what's going on in Baltimore, I wanna know what people think about the actions that are taking place. I've had countless discussions about this, since it's inception, and I'm almost exhausted already. There have been many different viewpoints that I've been a part of, and I would love to hear from you. What confuses me, is how people are saying that violence isn't the answer.....when in fact, violence is what has started it from the beginning. What are thoughts about what President Obama said, Ray Lewis and other celebrities? What constitutes a proper response? Do you like the response of the community? How do you think the elected officials have handled it? Are these actions warranted? How do you think media has handled the coverage? This show will not only be about police killings, but also crimes and killings done BY US, TO US, as well as the excessive incarceration rate of Black men. There's an apparent and urgent need for something to change. I've had many of conversations where people have thrown out a multitude of things that we can do. Some say we need to dress differently, some say we need to mindful of how we talk to the cops, some say that we should drive different vehicles so we don't fit stereotypes, some say that we need stop supporting media and entertainment that gloriifes drugs, killings and sex, some say that we need to be more involved in the political process and vote more, some say that bad parenting is the reason for it all etc. What do you say? All of those points may be valid, so how do we begin a comprehensive plan of action, so that we can begin to implement said solutions? All ideas are in play here, It's imperative that we have a real intense dialogue about forming some solutions, and manifesting them into action. 02:20:00Darryels Daily DialoguenoBlack Lives Matter,Solutions to saving our lives?,The State of Black America,Black Crown Media,Darryel's CircleOn tonight's show, I will continue my series of The State of Black America, by asking, what are your solutions to saving our lives?
