Today, our topic is Generation FortyFour or as it is affectionately known Gen44! Gen 44 is a council to cultivate and empower a rising generation of leaders for the Democratic Party.

Gen44 will work with this groundbreaking group, all under the age of 40, to serve as a platform for political mobilization and to ensure that President Obama has the resources and infrastructure needed to implement the change we want to see.

And there is no better representation of Gen 44 than our very own Lawrence B. Jones III. 17 year old Lawrence B. Jones III is an author, businessman, and CEO of Jones 4Teens Youth Organization. However, Lawrence Jones, is not your typical teenage boy. Lawrence served as the Garland district 6 Obama campaign coordinator and In the spring of 2008 he was named the Youth Mayor of Garland by the Mayor of the City of Garland. Lawrence is on his second term as Youth Mayor and continues to reduce the Juvenile crime rate. In 2010 the Governor of Texas, Rick Perry as well as member of Congress, appointed Lawrence as Junior-Senator of Texas.
