At the end of March 2015 a Meta-analysis of a group of studies looking the dental benefits of xylitol concluded with a very alarming headline. What they really found, after scrutinizing the study, is that what we’ve known to be true; low doses of xylitol are not as effective at reducing dental decay as higher doses. So, gums where xylitol is listed as an afterthought, won’t give you the kind of results you’ll get using gums with only xylitol as the sweetener.

Join me as Dr. Peldyak talks about the study with me and fills us in on the true magic that is xylitol in this special extended episode of Cross Link Radio.

Dr. John Peldyak is a retired general dentist who was part of the ground breaking Michigan xylitol study. His depth of knowledge on xylitol and other sugars, is entertaining and enlightening.
