Analysis of the latest U.S. Census Bureau data shows the design, construction and maintenance of transportation infrastructure supports the equivalent of 354,590 full-time jobs in California. These employees earn a total annual payroll of $18.6 billion and contribute an estimated $1.6 billion in state and federal payroll tax revenue.
The above data tells us that a strong construction industry is one vital key to economic recovery.
Please join me and my special guest Emily Cohen Director of Government Relations for the Engineering & Utilities Contractors Association in San Francisco on Saturday, July 9, 2011 at 10 am pst as we dig into the issues facing the construction industry and the State of California.
