How do you evolve from a security guard to an Interior Designer? In the case of Erin Goldrick, our guest for this episode the idea developed as she , a recent Art History major, was toiling at her entry level job at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in NYC. She recalls, " I realized I was more interested in shaping the space around the art than in the art it self”. After a few more beginner jobs in design firms, she took the plunge and went back to school and received her degree in Interior Design.Today she says,”I work to improve peoples quality of life by improving the space around them in residential spaces or commercial interior spaces". Erin tells us that she loves her work because,"…I have the opportunity  to create spaces for people to really feel happy, comfortable and safe in their home” And, in the area of commercial design Erin tells us that in a resturant, “the food or service alone is not the only aspect of what dictates an enjoyable experience. It is the design around it that enhances the experience…the same applies in an office, hospital, wellness center or a retail space”
