Do you know that Qigong (pronounced Chee Gong) is health exercises that is one of the five main therapies used in Traditional Chinese Medicine? Our guest, Jonathan Breshin practices and teaches Qigong and he tells us,”These exercises are characterized by deliberate movements, breathing methods and focused intention….our focus is also on stimulating and fortifying the internal organs, opening channels and meridians, building new connections and releasing tension and blockages”. Jonathan told us that his, “journey into the Chinese Internal Arts and Healing Arts started out with pain, hopelessness, and helplessness”. His career was in electrical construction and he spent days drilling into concrete and hammering and lifting.Over time he began to have extreme pain in his wrist and had two difficult operations that did not relieve the pain. A friend introduced him to a Chinese Medicine practitioner who did acupuncture sessions and assigned him Qigong exercises to do at home. Over a few months, his pain disappeared. soon thereafter Jonathan became certified in Qigong and other Chinese arts, recently adding Tui Na, Chinese medical massage, to his certifications. He concludes,”These practices have stood the test of time…because they work and instill significant positive change in us”.
