It is interesting that many of our guests were first introduced to their healing modality as a result of an injury. This is the case for this week’s interviewee, Erika Kalkan who is an Integrative Physical Therapist. She started her career path as a professional dancer and due to an injury to both knees, she was introduced to PT and the course of her life was diverted onto the wellness path. She holds a Doctorate in Physical Therapy, is a Reiki Master and a Craniosacral Therapist. She includes energy work, breath work, and meditation in her practice. Erika tells us, "I love helping people and seeing them feel better. It is so fulfilling to me.Our bodies are so remarkable! It is always so fascinating to see such vast improvement in such a short time”.She has a private practice in NYC and she also works with professional dancers, “I see many dancers in my practice and work with dance companies backstage”. She also tells us,”A lot of their symptoms resolve very quickly with the work I do….But it is their bodies that are doing the healing. I am just guiding the process”.
