I use mindfulness in sessions in the form of meditation, breath work and artistic expression”. She helps her clients to practice”non-judgement” to observe and describe their experiences, both internal and external.”Sometimes I may make art in front of clients to visually map what they are saying”. Emily seems to have come to the work of helping people quite naturally, she tells us, “Apparently,when I was in Kindergarten, after seeing a classmate struggle with answering a teacher’s question, I approached the teacher and stated,’Maybe he just doesn’t understand the way you said the question”. Her interest in Art combined with the fact that she has always been facinated with helping people led to this this perfect career choice.
