Technology in Our Lives - Mike Dean

Mike Dean is the director of sales and marketing for Epilog Laser and has been involved in various positions in high-tech manufacturing for almost 30 years.  He got his start as a Quality/Manufacturing engineer for a manufacturer of hard disk drives for personal computers back in the day when a 20 megabytehard drive was a lot of memory!  That position provided a great learning experience in a fast-paced, rapidly changing high-tech manufacturing environment.  Over the years, Mike gained valuableexperience establishing and managing high-tech manufacturing facilities in the US, Singapore and Hong Kong for several different manufacturers. 20 years ago Mike joined Epilog as one of the founders and has been involved in the establishment and ongoing operations of Epilog’s manufacturing facility in Golden, CO.  Epilog manufactures laser engraving, cutting and marking systems as well as the laser tubes that are the heart of the systems. The laser tube side of Epilog is a highly specialized manufacturing process so dependent on engineering and technology know-how that Epilog is one of only four manufacturers in the world producing this type of laser tube.
