WASHINGTON, August 19, 2015 – On September 14, 2015 at the Lincoln Memorial in Washington D.C., Sing It America will bring those that love our Star Spangled Banner together to celebrate the past year's "National Thanksgiving for the Star Spangled Banner."

Last year, Sing It America, officially partnered with the government commission Starspangled200 and Friends of Ft McHenry to secure passage of U.S. Senate Resolution 550. Resolution 550 designated the period of September 2014 through September 2015 as the year of National Thanksgiving for the Star Spangled Banner.

The senate resolution encouraged, “All state and local governments and the people of the people of the United States to observe this period of thanksgiving with appropriate ceremonies, activities, educational outreach and reflection.”

All Americans from every corner of the nation are being encouraged to sign up and register right now with Sing It America to join in the historic festivities that day, according to Selena Owens, Sing It America’s Communication’s Director.

A special request is being made to supporters to lend financial support to the historic event.

Joining Standing at Freedom’s Gate host Kevin Fobbs to discuss an update on the event and the exciting plans in store for event attendees is Selena Owens Communications Director for Sing It America.

Owens is also Vice Chair of the Conservative Campaign Committee PAC and author of "The Power Within a Conservative Woman: Engaging America for God Family, and Country.”
