Prison reform goes beyond just the prison system to the school system.  A Study released from the Center for American Progress by Malik in 2017 indicated that every day 250 preschool students are expelled or suspended every day.  Additionally, private prisons house nearly 10 percent of the prison population in the United States, parents can be a part of the solution by making immediate changes and take action as it pertains to their child.  The ACLU also indicated that 31 percent of all school arrests are Black Students.  Children from depressed, underserved communities need support and adequate education.  With the educational freedom in the U.S. from charter schools to home schools parents can empower themselves to ensure that their children remain safe.
