Rob Walker (@rwalk03) is a staff writer at Into the Calderón and the guest on this edition of Colchonero Chat. Though monitoring an Atlanta Falcons playoff game, Rob is able to analyze Atlético Madrid’s foul-and yellow card-laden win over Getafe on Saturday.

Atlético’s 17th win the past 25 league derbies was dominated by Diego Costa, who scored and got sent off in the span of 60 seconds. Rob and Into the Calderón site manager Jeremy Beren (@JBBeren) discuss Costa’s first Liga Santander match in over three years and what he brought to the attack over his 68 minutes. The podders further look back at Ángel Correa netting his fifth league goal (one more than last year), Antoine Griezmann dropping into a more comfortable role and the litany of yellow cards doled out to Atlético.

Finally, Rob and Jeremy preview Lleida’s visit to the Wanda Metropolitano on Tuesday. The Copa del Rey fixture looks to be a mere formality, and the guys wonder if any B team stalwarts will get a chance to impress.
