David graduated from law school in 1982 and built his own practice, involving both civil and criminal litigation in State and Federal courts. Early in his career he practiced family law and has represented clients on  appeals throughout his career. David has tried over 250 jury trials and perfected over 50 appeals, two of which were significant evolutions of the law in Indiana. David has served on the Indiana Public Defender Council Board of Directors since 1984, including four terms as chairman. He is a regular CLE presenter for the Indiana Public Defender Council (IPDC) and, occasionally, with the Indiana Continuing Legal Education Forum. David has taught at the Trial Practice Institute. He has assisted in planning annual training calendars for IPDC, planned and coordinated seminars, and served as both a mentor and a trainer. David is a past member of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and the Indiana Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers.

Furthermore, David has previously served as judge pro tem, presiding over a jury trial, court trials and general court calendars. He does not pretend this is significant judicial experience but it has served to give him the perspective from the bench.

David believes the courts belong to the People and the Judge is its servant. He has the knowledge, experience and integrity to serve the indispensable function of the judicial branch and to help it fulfill its promise. He wants to earn your vote.
