"I will fail!” "I will look stupid!" "l will be embarrassed!" These are a few excuses we will hear from someone who tends to sabotage themselves. Self sabotaging occurs when a person actively or passively take steps to prevent themselves from reaching their goal. This type of behavior creates problem in their daily lives (relationships, career or personal goals).
Self sabotaging may come in many forms: procrastination, self medication, perfectionism, comfort eating, and forms of self injury such as cutting.
