    Episode 299: Christianity 202, Part Six--Eschatology

    in Christianity

Is the "end" of our stories something to be afraid of, or hopeful about?  Whether we are talking about what happens to us individually when we die or what happens at the end of the world's story, we naturally wonder about where our stories are headed and what we do with our lives in the mean time in light of it.  And to be sure, both the Scriptures and centuries of Christian thinking and theology have things to say about those questions--although sometimes we've spoken with too much certainty about things we can't know, or arrogantly assumed it's up to us to do take certain actions to set Jesus' coming again into motion.  In this final episode of our "Christianity 202" series, pastors Erica, Sarah, and Steve explore some of the questions about "last things"--or in theological jargon, "eschatology"--and how we stake out a place at the intersection of hope and humility as we trust in the God who raises the dead and promises to make all things new, even if we don't know details about the how or the when.  Join us for this conversation here on Crazy Faith Talk.

    in Christianity

Listen to this Saint, St. Louis de Montfort , "The more we honor the Blessed Virgin, the more we honor Jesus Christ, because we honor Mary only that we may honor more perfectly Jesus, since we go to her only as the way by which we are to find the end we are seeking, which is Jesus." Pope Pius IX declared that St. Louis De Montfort's devotion to Mary was the best and most acceptable form of devotion to Our Lady.
Pope Pius X "I heartily recommend True Devotion to the Blessed Virgin, so admirably written by Blessed De. Montfort, and to all who read it grant the Apostolic Benediction."
Pope Paul VI: "We are convinced without any doubt that devotion to Our Lady is essentially joined with devotion to Christ, that it assures a firmness of conviction to faith in HIM and in His Church, a vital adherence to Him and to His Church which, without devotion to Mary, would be impoverished and compromised."
Pope John Paul II: "The reading of this book was a decisive turning point in my life. I say 'turning point,' but in fact it was a long journey... This 'perfect devotion' is indispensable to anyone who means to give himself without reserve to Christ and to the work of redemption."
May we come to Mary with her directive to "Do Whatever He Tells You". May each of us reach out in love for all that have been put into our path, as by wisdom we are aware that we may not be here tomorrow. Remember this every day you are alive and act accordingly for the souls Jesus put into your path, by 'at a minimum' Share these miracles with everyone you can, increase your field that you have been given and get this to the farthest reaches of the territory you have been given for souls.

    Family Prayer

    in Christianity

We must go to God with our entire souls. We go with all of our affection, passion, and faith. We also must ask God for wisdom concerning our families and loved ones. As intercessors, we must pray for our loved ones by name. Husbands pray for your wives and wives pray for your husbands. Parents pray for your children, and children pray for your parents. Siblings pray for each other. “With all prayer and petition, pray [with specific requests] at all times [on every occasion and in every season] in the Spirit, and with this in view, stay alert with all perseverance and petition [interceding in prayer] for all God’s people.” Ephesians 6:18, Amp.

    Single Parenting with Grace

    in Christianity

Children are a blessing from God, and parenting is a huge responsibility that shouldn't be taken lightly.  True enough, single parenting is met with many challenges. Generally, the family structure breaks down, and children live with the stigma that they are on the short end of the stick. Single parents can be overcomers by surviving financial hardship, emotional upheaval, and spiritual burdens of unworthiness. Trust in the Lord and His promises so you can live with hope on the horizon.
Psalm 127:3 (NASB) says, "Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord, the fruit of the womb a reward."  God desires single parents to align their families with sound biblical teaching and application. With Him, all things are possible.
Join us on Tuesday, November 15, 2022, at 3:30 PM PST, with our special guest Patrice Harris, founder of The G.O.O.D.E. Foundation. God gave Ms. Harris a vision for the Foundation, and her passion is to uproot the bondage of brokenness and unworthiness in single-parent families with sustainable results. As a single mother, you’ll hear her personal testimony and the transformation that occurred when she surrendered all to God. Ms. Harris is the author of "When the Lord Speaks, Hannah's prayer."
