Dick B on Bill W.'s Christian upbringing & Deliverance

This talk will focus on A.A.'s Bill W. It will give you an accurate A.A. history of Bill's Christian upbringing and deliverance. There is a vital need today for a patient, studious, thorough, and brief review of each aspect of A.A.'s beginnings. My son Ken and I are about to undertake a number of meetings, workshops, and conferences from February 4 to February 12, 2013. In those talks, we will be emphasizing three points: (1) The actual language of present-day A.A. literature that shows a broad invitation to Christians and others to get the facts straight and practice them. (2) People in recovery need much more information about "old-school" A.A. and the simple program of reliance on God of the A.A. pioneers. (3) To do this effectively, audiences need to hear how the old and the new can be melded together to make recovery more palatable to believers and more effective for the suffering. But tonight, we will give you a very brief account of Bill W.'s own Christian upbringing and deliverance which is information almost every AA needs to hear.
