Dr. Angel Mason assumed the role as Berry College's Director of Athletics on June 1, 2019. She has 14 years of experience as a coach, administrator and Division III advocate.

A native of Evanston, Ill., she joined Berry from Pomona College where she served as the Senior Associate Athletic Director, SWA, and Deputy Title IX Coordinator for Pomona-Pitzer Athletics.

Mason has been involved with several Division III national committees including the NCAA Financial Aid Committee and Division III Technology Committee. She has been an active member in Women Leaders in College Sports and the Minority Opportunities Athletic Association (MOAA). 

Her previous roles in athletics include Associate Director of Athletics, SWA and Professor of Physical Education at Hamilton College;  Assistant Women's Basketball Coach at her alma mater, Butler University; and Head Women’s Basketball Coach and Assistant Athletic Director for Operations at Vassar College.

Mason graduated with a bachelor's degree in communication studies and a minor in English from Butler, where she played basketball. She earned her master’s degree in sports management from California University of Pennsylvania.
