Coach Strauss returns to coaching football and teaching PE at Grand Terrance High School after retiring from coaching after the 2009-10 football season to assume his role as the Athletic Director at Colton High School. He has amassed a record of 229-93-3 while Head Coaching 29 Varsity Football teams in his 32 year coaching career, leading those teams to 26 League Championships and seven CIF-SS Championship Games, winning four CIF Championships.  During his 32 years of coaching, 21 years as an Athletic Director and 34 years as an Educator and leader in athletics, Coach Strauss has Head Coached 73 different Varsity teams and leading 70 or those teams to the Playoffs.

Coach has received numerous awards throughout his career, too many to list. A couple of his latest include: in 2010 he received the San Bernardino County Schools Board Of Education Medal Of Honor Award Recipient for Excellence in Education/Student Alumni. In 2011 Coach Strauss has been inducted into the Southern California Interscholastic Football Coaches Association Hall of Fame and the National Single Wing Football Coaches Association Hall of Fame. He is a renowned speaker nationwide for his Merging of the DW, SW and Spread Offenses into what he calls “The California Wing,” his coaching philosophy of “Building Champions and Leaders in Life,” and “Installing a Tutoring Program in Your Program.” But most of all he believes that coaching football is a means for “Building Men of Character, Integrity, and Leaders for Life.” We accomplish this through leading by example, mentoring, being R.E.A.L., making good choices, building relationships, and community service.
