“… all of a sudden I totally understood abstract art because I had an emotional reaction. It was a field of colour that was a universe unto itself – but it could have been anything … you could transport in any direction that your emotions would carry you in that moment.”
 
“That happens a lot with photography because it’s so immediate. You click the shutter, you go look at what you’ve taken, and you see things that you didn’t realise that you’re seeing – and it’s a discovery … over and over again.”
