In this podcast, Chelsea Hoffman will discuss the criminal justice system and how it varies among those who identify as being "liberal" or "conservative."

Politics is always a touchy subject, especially in today's climate, and there are certainly differences in how people view crime and punishment depending on how they vote. Liberals tend to be more "softhearted" while conservatives generally fall in support for harsher punishments instead of the "revolving-door-system."

Where do you fit on the spectrum? Are your views politically "left" or "right?" -- what about your views on the criminal justice system? Do you support the death penalty? Do you think some criminals should get life sentences on first offenses?

Chelsea wants to hear your opinions so the lines will be open during this 30-minute segment of Case to Case. Some of the primary cases that may be discussed are bulleted below:

  • The abduction/murder of teen Sierra LaMar and whether or not Antolin Garcia-Torres deserves the death penalty or life in prison.
  • The death of Carnel Chamberlain and whether or not his mother should face charges for failing to report the abuse she witnessed.
  • Should convicted sex offenders (higher than level 1) be given immediate life sentences or death penalty?
  • Should death row inmates be allowed their "last meal" before execution?
  • Should "three-strike-rules" apply to misdemeanors? (low tier)

Please tune in on Friday night at 9:30 p.m., PST (west coast) to listen to the live cast and call in with your own comments and questions. The live chat feature will also be open, but you must sign up with a Blog Talk Radio ID to join the chat without calling-in.
