Meet the dynamic, inspirational Kit Cummings founder of Power of Peace Project
We will be talking about his recent visit to South Africa where he connected with the Mandela legacy.
Kit is an International, Author, Speaker and Peace keeper. He is in the process of writing a new book about men of peace and sharing on death row in prisons around the country.
The story begins:
On January 18th, 2011, twelve men at a dangerous maximum security prison signed a “Peace Pledge.” Following the example of men like Gandhi, King, Mandela and Jesus of Nazareth, they set out to see if they could live in peace with the men that reside in Georgia’s toughest prison. “40 Days of Peace” began on the 25th anniversary of MLK Day and would continue for the following forty days. These twelve men chronicled their success, struggles and failures; bold men, some of whom are former gang members serving life sentences. What happened next is that they unknowingly started a Peace Movement that would continue to spread to many other state prisons. The “Seven Peace Doctrines” that they committed to and the transformation that followed is the subject of Kit Cummings’ new work and next book. Dr. King’s Dream lives on, and light shines brightest in the darkness… Give PEACE a chance.
