You just heard the Concorde takeoff and the sonic boom when it broke the sound barrier.  That was 51 years ago –  February 1969.  Concorde entered service in 1976 and continued flying for the next 27 years. It is one of only two supersonic transports to have been operated commercially; the other is the Soviet-built Tupolev Tu-144, which operated in the late 1970s.

Lots of changes coming in the future of commercial aviation, Our program Monday, March 2nd at 7:00 pm ET gives an inside view of what to expect in design, comfort and speed.  We hope you will listen it and add your comments to the show.  Call in: 213-816-1611 or listen in at www.blogtalkradio.com/capteddie Eastern Airlines Radio Show
