Candelo's Corner Special Rebroadcast: Spiritual Possession

The belief in spiritual possession is very common in most religions and spiritualities. Sometimes it happens against a person's will and other times it is an intentional act to commune with spirit and provide spirit a body to work with for a time. In many of the ATRs full spiritual possession is often practiced intentionally and at other times not intended, but allowed to occur. Often the possessed have no memory of what occurred after the possession. In many traditional Witchcraft systems and Wicca a milder form of possession is sometimes practiced, where the Priest and or Priestess allow the God or Goddess to flow through them, sometimes speak though them, sometimes to perform works. In those systems the Priest or Priestess tend to remain conscious and mostly in control, yet there are times when the gods take full control. How it's done, what happens when it's done and perhaps how to undo it when it's not wanted.
