ELAINE SMITHA, a resident of the still beautiful, but under siege Pacific Northwest, is an internationally-known speaker and media personality. She began her writing career producing a neighborhood newspaper and later became the editor and publisher of a statewide newsletter. Her feature articles have appeared in such diverse publications as the Orange County Illustrated, Sovereign Scribe, New Times and The Olympian, and she wrote a monthly column for Masters Network and the Daily Planet. Elaine is the creator, producer and host of Evolving Ideas^© TV and Radio and has a weekly show on The Progressive Radio Network, PRN.net. Her first book, published in 2004 by Hampton Roads Publishing, was the well-received and critically acclaimed If You Make the Rules, How Come You’re Not Boss? She is listed in Who’s Who in American Art and World Who’s Who of Women. Elaine’s newest book is titled Screwing Mother Nature for Profit: How Corporations Betray Our Trust – And Why the “New Biology” offers An Ethical and Sustainable Future.
