SURVIVING HEAD TRAUMA with TERRY SMITH

After the trauma, after doctors, after rehab, after the family attention, the caretaker is who remains for the survivor. Sometimes, forever.

This episode is about what it means to be a caretaker of someone for the rest of life and the sacrifices made to do so. The nature of being a caretaker is often unheard and unmentioned. The toll is real for the patient and the caregiver. Finding balance with the life of a disabled loved one and your own life is our objective.

At the top of the show, Bob and Shelly Millsap will share their compelling story of love, loss, survival and commitment. One is a caregiver, the other is a survivor. Together, they will reveal the ups and downs of living life requiring care after the fall.

Our next guest, Kay Pratt, is a brain injury survivor, author of the book: Help I Have A Brain Injury And It Feels Like I’ve Dropped Out Of The Sky, and a life coach for dealing with long term caregiving. She’s going to share her story, how she overcame it and what she has learned as a life coach to help others who are making sacrifices for the sake of love.
