Carolyn Watson Dubisch, Wade Zahares, and Mike Dubisch talk with artists from all walks of life. For our final show this year we will have photographer, Michael James Butts joining us.
Michael James Butts has been recording the world with his camera for nearly three decades. Ten years spent in Auckland, New Zealand were formative in shaping the view through his lens. In those early years, he started by using his dad’s Minolta SR-T 101 shooting gigs for the alternative band, SLK. He continued his photography work back in the States, where he earned a BFA in Graphic Design from Rhode Island School of Design. Some of Michael’s recent inspirations include the urban environment, vinyl record covers, films, and family. He now lives in Boston, MA with some of his favorite photography subjects: his wife and twin girls.
For our second we will have writer and curator, Andrew Farago talking with us. Andrew Farago is the curator of the Cartoon Art Museum in San Francisco. He has overseen more than 100 exhibitions of original cartoon art, and and has curated comic and animation exhibition throughout the United States, Japan, Canada and Greece. Farago has written for Marvel Comics, The Comics Journal, Animation World Network, and is the author of The Looney Tunes Treasury. He lives in Berkeley with his wife, cartoonist Shaenon K. Garrity. Listen in as we talk these great guests and explore the world of contemporary art.
