Years ago, DAVID BOYER wanted to help Chicago's homeless population but didn't know how. After meeting a homeless man, Dave stumbled on a simple way to get people involved. He started a non-profit that made it easy for people to help the homeless during the winters. Soon after, Dave was mentoring kids in Chicago's public schools and discovered that many kids wanted to do something about the issues they cared about Ultimately, Dave built 2 programs that give kids nationwide the 3 things they need to make a difference: Resources, Reasons to act, and How to start and fund their projects. Meet Dave and learn about WaysToHelp and America's Youth Service Challenge.
SANDY TANKOOS was founder and president of 2 successful court reporting agencies. After she retired, Sandy started exploring the Internet and found that browsing sites of interest was time-consuming. She founded TOS50.com – The Other Side of 50 – to tap into the interests and lifestyle of the baby-boomer and older population. "Those of us on The Other Side of 50 remember the idealism of the 60's – the joy and the tears. We now have time for leisure, or a change of career, to read, volunteer, travel. Now it's all in one place." Meet Sandy and tell her about your 50+ interests.
