According to the CDC, in 2014, a total of 249,078 babies were born to women aged 15–19 years, for a birth rate of 24.2 per 1,000 women in this age group. Becoming a parent during your teen years can be a freighting experience for young girls and boys. Our panel will discuss the many issues of teen pregnancy and what type of support systems are available to teens who have become parents. Some of our panelists will share their experience of becoming a teen parent, and they will discuss how they overcame the odds and are now living a successful life. The purpose of this broadcast is to inform and educate the public about teen pregnancy, motherhood, fatherhood, birth control, family support systems, community support systems, the statistics, and more.
