According to Raghavan Mayur, presidenct of TechnoMetrica, which leads the polling operations for Investor’s Business Daily: “Typically, the mainstream media and the major polling companies will never admit their bias to you. This is like an alcoholic not admitting to using alcohol. They are in denial.” IBD was one of the few polling organizations to predict’ not only the Trump victory, but the last four Presidential victories as well. Affable Democrat, Pat Caddell, agreed; right after the Trump election: “… there was a couple days of shock. And then they moved on because what they could not do is to get to the bottom of their own polling bias.” I have to take issue with these two – just a bit – these guys know what they are doing, they just won’t talk openly about it because their entire raison d’être is to provide accurate predictions of future results, and if it becomes widely known that they are skewing their results along political lines, they just can’t last long. Fortunately, President Trump was able to get Chinese President Xi Jinging to threaten North Korea with a complete cutoff of oil should they test another nuke. This threat was issued on the eve of North Korea’s test. The result - the test has never happened. That test was said to be of a miniaturized nuclear weapon small enough to be placed on the top of their new ICBM, which was successfully tested on July 4th. The problem at this point is not whether a fully tested and successfully miniaturized nuke can be delivered by their new ICBM. The problem is that a less–sophisticated nuke can do infinitely more damage to the United States than just taking out Seattle or San Francisco. It has been estimated that a nuke detonated hundreds of miles above the U.S. mainland could possibly kill 90% of the U.S. population over the subsequent year. However, there has been precious little testing, especially in the last 50 years. We really don’t know how much damage would be done, how large a warhead would have to be or the height of the explosion for maximum impact. However, this is a threat that cannot be ignored for much longer. It seems that our intelligence community was surprised that N. Korea was ready to test an ICBM. But it was also surprised that it did so from a mobile launcher. This may or may not have been an intel failure. [insert] According to Kyle Bailey, a spokesman for the Ranked-Choice Voting Committee which worked to pass the ballot measure last fall: “Last November, Maine people approved ranked-choice voting with the second largest vote in Maine history and today the Legislature did not stand in the way of implementing the will of the people.”  In an advisory opinion, the Maine Supreme Judicial Court found that the law are unconstitutional insofar as it applies to the governor’s race and seats in the state legislature, ok for the Maine’s state primary elections and Congressional seats.  It would take a 2/3rds vote of the legislature to overturn the measure, so if nothing is done, the primaries in June of next year will be using the ranked-choice system. The Presidential Advisory Commission on Election Integrity will meet for the first time on July 19 in Washington to investigate widespread reports of not only election irregularities throughout 2016, but in the previous presidential cycle as well. On Monday, a Harrisonburg, Virginia a paid Democrat party worker pled guilty to registering dead people to vote. We reported on this story in report # 1230 on Oct. 2 of last year. Andrew Spieles, aged 21, was caught registering the name of the deceased father of a Rockingham County Judge in a Democrat registration drive. Spieles admitted that he created 18 fraudulent forms himself from data gleaned from Virginia Democratic Party “walk sheets”, but claimed that no one else participated in the crime.
