In commemoration of Save the Redwoods League’s 100th anniversary, Heyday is proud to present the book The Once and Future Forest: California’s Iconic Redwoods, that showcases both the grandeur of the redwood ecosystems that sustain California and the deep love they have engendered in scientists, writers, artists, and the general public.
Sam Hodder, President and CEO of the Save the Redwoods League, joins Big Blend Radio's Nature Connection show, to share some of the history of the Save The Redwoods League and to discuss this beautiful book, of which he wrote the introduction. Over the last century, the League has protected more than 200,000 acres of redwood forests and helped 66 redwood parks and reserves. The organization has pioneered innovative, science-based forest-restoration work, and most importantly, has touched the lives of millions of people by connecting them to these towering wonders of nature.
