Joseph Kellard creates content in words and pixels. He’s founder of KellardMedia, a Long Island/New York-based writing and photography service. For 15+ years prior, Joseph was a journalist reporting for various publications. He started at community newspapers; then worked for AOL’s Patch.com, Long Island Business News and American Banker. He also writes for Newsday. As a community news editor, he picked up a camera and turned what was initially a simple desire to capture more creative images for his news stories into a passion that has lead him to become a Getty Images contributor.

About our topic he says, "I look forward to discussing how I use my background in journalism and photography to create a content creation business. As a teenager, I fell in love with words and writing and eventually turned this romance into a career as a reporter. When I graduated to editor of a community newspaper, I started to take photos of the subjects I wrote about. This turned into a second romance I formed with photography. Unwilling to give up on either love affair, I left my journalism career to marry the two passions and turn my relationship into a content creation service called KellardMedia. I’d like my interview to help spark ideas in listeners as to how they also may be able to combine certain skills to form a new creative outlet and create additional opportunities for themselves."
