Over 3.8 million sport-related brain injuries occur every year in North America. These injuries have been linked to CTE and other diseases that cause headaches, vision problems, anger, depression, and suicide.

Studies have shown that concussions are on the rise. According to the US Centre for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the number of emergency room visits for traumatic brain injuries related to sports and recreation has increased by 62% from 2001-2009.
