What if we had a new vision for work, not as a necessary evil, but as a source of all the great things we want our lives to be; an expression of who we are; a way of serving rather than getting; a legacy we want to leave to the world? That is the promise of From Marking a Living to Creating a Life.

In many ways From Making a Living to Creating a Life is the upgraded, “grow-up” version of David Firth’s first book, How to Make Work Fun! It shows people how they can truly enjoy and derive deep satisfaction from their work, whatever it is they happen to do for a living. But the book goes further than that: it challenges head-on the default conversation that work is, at best, the thing that earns the money to pay for what we’d rather be doing, or, at worst, that it’s a curse for not having been born rich. David wants to help tomorrow’s workforce by giving them ideas and distinctions that will help them create mighty, magnificent lives, with their work as a central force in that process.

For the last 20 years David has been a management consultant, facilitator & speaker in progressive organizational development. He has written 11 business books including ‘Corporate Voodoo’ and ‘Smart Things to Know about Change.’ David works with companies who want to build relationships with their stakeholders based on respect, commitment, accountability and mutuality. He is an expert in both small and (very) large group facilitation and his consulting practice also incorporates executive coaching and innovative training.
