The world is changing fast. Some say that this is it, that we are approaching the end of the world. Others are of the opinion that this is the end of the world, as we know it; that the infrastructure is falling and that there is a big awakening going on. Yet still, some others think that this is just a consequence of pollution, abuse of resources; social and financial inequality and which it will keep on progressing the way it is. Finally there are some people that see nothing out of the ordinary, just natural evolution, really nothing out of the ordinary going on in their world Whether any of these groups of people are right, I see more and more interest in the Spirit and occult world. In social media, and even in mainstream media, we see discussions about indigo and crystal children, shamans, light workers, Reiki masters and the like. As a society we are getting infused with terms and theories, prophecies and predictions, most of which are rather confusing, and, for some, too far fetched to even pay attention to. In order to bring some light to all these we have invited Cassandra Fulton and Catherine McCormack to the program. These two lovely ladies are psychics, having worked in the spiritual world for many years now. They are lively and have a lot of interesting things to say about the days that we are living. They will be clarifying some of the questions that some of us may have from a perspective of the spirit world. Please help me welcome Cassandra and Catherine, to a program full of surprises and perspectives 00:28:00Because Women Are AmazingnoPsychic, predictions, changing world,Spirit worldWe are living exciting time in history, and, depending how you look at it, scary too. Why does it affect us? Most of us suffer a least a bout of depression throughout our lives, and in same cases the consequences can be devastating.  Mood changes, low self-esteem, feelings of worthlessness and sense of loss and doom plague those that suffer it, and even, in severe cases, suicide thoughts and attempts. Depression affects each individual differently and not even doctors are very clear what the causes may be. In same cases it maybe loss and devastation, familial tendencies and alcohol or drug abuse; but sometimes even boredom and frustration may set somebody off. Anybody is susceptible to it, any of us may suffer from it. Whatever the cause, the important part is to get over depression and never to fall back in to it again. Different individuals take different approaches, from medication and therapy, to heavy exercise, hypnosis, traveling or change of lifestyle. My guest this week, Tameika McPhaul, decided that she was going to help herself. She realized that glamour could help her get her confidence back, and she set to work on herself and make the best of her life.  The plan worked for her and she got back on her feet. She is happy now and wanting to share her success. She has written a book and is helping other women overcome their blues. Please join us Tuesday September 16th at 8PM PST for a chat about overcoming depression and staying happy and healthy.  00:29:00Because Women Are Amazingnodepression, glamour, author,Tameika McPhaulWhat is depression? He spent his life making us laugh, while, at times, he was crying inside, and at the end, the loneliness produced by this lack of balance was stronger than his will to live, and he ended it all. The opinions were rampant, and he has been glorified or condemned and criticized. His image will never be the same; all his good deeds and work have been magnified by his friends and followers or disgraced for going against the law of the lord and society both. She is living her dream by writing and contributing to the well being of others and sharing her successes. Her first book, “Independently  raising a Man” brought us an insight on how to deal with the everyday challenges of educating a happy boy all by herself, setting boundaries out of love. But the life of a woman is a lot more than motherhood. Once the priorities have been set and dinner has been served, we all have to look after ourselves. In her new book, “Everyday Mom’s guide to being fit and fabulous!” Shondreka gives us a great run through ways of leading a healthy life in an easy and simple way. The amount of people that are getting sick nowadays is tremendous and doctors don’t seem to be able to answer all the questions. There is a big hype about holistic healers, Naturopaths, Osteopathic doctors, herbologists, shamans, and other new age practitioners. What is the difference between all of them? Are they really effective? Are they safe? What do they base their healing in to? To answer some of these questions and many more I invited Janet Nestor to the show. We live in the time of media and mass communication and we are all exposed to a great amount of stimuli, not leaving much time for one of one communication. Parents are finding that working hard to keep a family together, to have a conversation at dinner table may not be as easy any more. But family communication is the basis of our formative years; we learn morals and ethics and basic human behavior from our parents and older siblings. No matter how much the world is evolving and how advanced how civilization is, we still use the family unit and the best way to raise children. To help us understand how much more we can help out children, how much we can all learn from each other when we communicate properly I have invited Kalyani Perry. We are living in  a time of history where we have put a man in the moon, we can go to the deepest areas of the ocean, can modified organism in a lab but still don’t have the cure for the common cold, let alone cancer, AIDS  or diabetes. In this time of information, where we can access to all kinds of philosophies and disciplines, we are finding out that our curiosity is taking us far, experimenting and implementing new ways of doing things in to our routines, creating new ways of life. Among other changes we are seeing spirituality without religion and healing without medicine. Some of these folks are helping others find information and inspiration through caring practices and writings, spreading quite fast, creating a lot of controversy. Some people believe all these to be the way to live any more, others consider it a quack movement to make money our of people’s need and some others feel that it is too much work, as a pill or the traditional church do the trick for them. In order to get deeper in to this subject I decided to invite Mare Cromwell to join us this coming Tuesday. Children are precious, we all know that; and for the most part, out society will protect and honor children, making sure they are safe and sound, fed and clothed for a better future.  Most parents will give their life for their children, work hard, obey the law and keep their family together. But sometimes life gets askew, and as careful as we maybe, our children may fall prey to the wrong people. Life of a sex-abused survivor is not easy. Self esteem drops, need for love and attention, self-reliance and many other tools that most of us take for granted are hard to acquire for children that felt let down, abandoned, violated. Nightmares, depression, abandon, continued abuse and substance abuse are normal outcomes to this life experience; years of continued abuse confuse these children who in many cases go from one kind of abuse to another, trying to find love. But life doesn’t have to be that hard even for abused children. There are ways to get out of the vicious cycle and there are people that make the best out of their lives no matter what.  This week I invited Denise, a sex abuse survivor that is a successful professional, a loving mother and a happy wife to help us see deeper in to the issue. Denise has been able to overcome her trauma and today she is a happy woman; she has suffered and overcome, and she has made it a quest in her life to talk about her abuse, to be an advocate, so others can survive, learn from her testimony and her lessons Please help me welcome Denise Tuesday January 7th at 8 PM PST 00:34:00Because Women Are AmazingnoChild abuse, survivor, surccessful recovery, support, testimonyAnd here we are again, the first show of the year! Do we realize how vulnerable we are, how easy it is to get in trouble? We live in a very individualistic world, with a fast pace. We don’t know where we are going or where all this changes in society and the world may take us. People go homeless everyday, it is happening more and more, and we don’t really pay attention. We don’t feel affected by it, other than the fact that beggars and bums are annoying, sitting on the sidewalk, begging for money, Very seldom do we look at this situation, these people in the face and ask what happened here? How do they ended up there,? Cold, hungry, lonely, destitute… How in the world did law-obeying, tax-paying, God-fearing citizens end up homeless? Most of us don’t know, and unfortunately, most of the time we don’t care.  The stories behind those faces very seldom come to light, they go on living their miserable lives, more than likely abusing drugs and alcohol till the end of their days, not knowing how to get out of that desperation state. But the future is not so blank if you have hope and determination. Andrea President is a fine example of that. As a teenager she lost her home and had to move away from her friends. Her mom was living in a care while she was staying with relatives to be able to finish high school. But she didn’t loose hope, she had strong faith in the future and she made it count. Her love for music along with a very seasoned soul has brought out an incredible singer, a very soul oriented writer, full of energy and desire to live, so much so that through that dream her family is reunited, have a home and Andrea has a bright future in the singing world. They are victims and very weak on their predicament, as they are living with the abuser, and in many cases ashamed, by their abuser, preconceptions and society in general. They don’t talk about their problems and they may stay in this situation for years before they gather the courage to move away, to move on and get a life of their own, for themselves and their children. In many instances they feel that they are alone, that this is happening only to them, so they feel that they don’t have rights, they don’t have the strength and they don’t have a voice. We have decided to give some attention to this problem in this month of awareness and we will be talking to Rhachelle Nicol. She is an incredible woman, with all the strength and all the voice to be able to transmit to others that it is hard but it can be done. Please join us Tuesday October 22 for a talk about abuse and how to step away from it 00:31:00Because Women Are AmazingnoDomestic violence,Rhachelle Nicol,Abuser,Abused women, dysfunctional familyDomestic violence is a cancer and a stigma that erodes our society in a very quiet way. Most of us had trouble in school, or with friends, growing up, adapting, learning to do the right thing, getting boundaries and discerning. In the best of circumstances, life is a challenge; but it can get worse for some people, and the normal growing pains turn in to trauma, and in many cases end up in a destroyed life. When this occurs we feel terrible about the victim; but society does very little, if any, partially because we don’t know what to do with troubled young adult, with their rebellion and bad manners, with their lack of collaboration and aggression. Once that a children are young adults, they are mostly on their own.  Some will make it and some will not Although they had tough beginnings, some kids overcome their troubles by the sheer power of their will and the guidance of their elders and role models, and they will beat the odds; they are able to play successfully the hand that was dealt to them, they are able to make a win out of a bad start in life. How do you start a life when you are troubled by your past? How do you make the wrong right? How do you gather your troubles and make it all better? Where do you get your strength to make positive out of your negative experiences?  To illustrate our point we have invited Raquel and Shannon, the power behind 4HumaniTees. This two wonderful ladies have made many rights from their wrongs, supporting and helping others on their journey, not only in a personal level, but professionally. Their organization helps projects take form, through mentoring, marketing and advise. They are there to help people that want to make a difference succeed, and by doing so, they are succeeding themselves Please join us to give them a warm welcome Tuesday October 15th at 8 PM PST. They are too preoccupied to provide the next dose to their aching body. Is it right to treat this women as addicts?  should these women be tried as felons that inflict heavy physiological abuse on children and impair their physical development? Children are neglected because of carelessness, they are abused by negligence. What happen to the children after they have been removed from the families that brought them to this world, from the mothers that gave them birth and in some instances drugs? Is it all right to take children from these women? Is the foster system a good place for children? How do children perceive this changes in their lives? This week we have invited Ana, she is a mother of 3 children that were taken away from a woman addicted to crack, and has been their primary care taker for the past 10 years. Ana has a first hand account of what goes on the lives of these children. The trauma sustained by the imprisoned individual is transmitted to the family, and the sense of loss, loneliness and shame only adds to the problem. What does the family do when this happens, how do they cope, what is it that makes them get up every morning and keep going with their lives? The allegiances that they once had feel empty, their priorities have changed. For some people this is despair and hopelessness, but some women find it in their heart to make it happen, to keep going until necessary, always with the certainty that this is a mistake and that one day it will get clear. How do they manage to get this strength? To answer all this questions we are bringing a very special guest to our show. Please listen to Tesia Barnes as she tells us about her tribulations and pain, her doubts and fears, but also about how to deal with all these problems, that at times seem to much to surmount 00:31:00Because Women Are Amazingnoimprisonment, injustice, women, strength, tribulationThe experience of being incarcerated has long-lasting effects on all inmates, but also on their families. We are making a series of this topic as we believe that we can learn so much from all this. No just the testimony of injustice, but in how many different levels we as individuals as well as family units get influenced, distressed and really marked for life.  Tasha will be sharing her thoughts and experiences with her children, Kayla, 16 and Braylon, 8. Each one of the members of the family experiences the troubles that they are going through in a different way due to their difference in age and time in their life. Tasha will help us understand what it is to be a mother to loving children, and having to explain to them that their father is not coming home tonight, or for a while, as he is being held against his will and through no fault of his own. She will give us testimony of what it means to be a single mother with a heavy weight on her soul, but with the hope, more than that, with the certainty, that all this will be solved and they will all be reunited. She believes in her husband’s innocence and she transmits that to her children, along with the knowledge that soon they will all be a united family again.00:30:00Because Women Are Amazingnoinjustice, children, future, innocence, familyFor this show we are welcoming another of the IRP6 case wife’s, Tasha Harper. Left to fend for yourself with the kids, the mortgage with life’s problems, all by yourself? It is tough, very tough. Now just imagine what it would be left behind, not only by your husband, but abandoned by a system when your husband is wrongfully convicted. This has happened to 6 women in Colorado and countless others all over the country. The judicial system seems to be failing, leaving out criminals and convicting innocent men, whose only crime is to try and make the best of their life’s, taking business risks and loving their families enough to work hard to give them a good life. To help us understand how hard it is to fend for oneself when life deals you a bad hand and to give us testimony of the hardships of visiting your innocent husband behind bars, we have invited Esther Banks, she is a strong woman, putting her life together as best she can, working, going to school and taking care of what is left of her family, as well as being a great emotional support for her husband. Some folks are walking out free when the general consensus calls for punishment and others going in for punishment for no reason at all. It all seems a little convoluted and unfair, we are all clamoring for a fair system. And the punishment of the innocent goes even further than prison. It goes to the heart of the American family. The people left behind, the wives and children of these innocent men, left to fend for themselves, with the shame and the pain that comes with having a family member convicted of a crime. Even though they may be innocent, society doesn’t see it with kindness. If you are in prison you are there to suffer, no matter what you did, or why they put you there. Those children missing their fathers, those women having to support the whole family by themselves; they are victims of the unjust system also, even more so, as they still live in society, but with no freedom. They have to put up with the shame of having a convict in the family, a stain on their name. So we decided to talk about it, to give some of the people that have reasons to call the justice system unfair a voice. Please join us to welcome Ethel Lopez who will be talking about people that have been wrongfully convicted and how it affects their families. She is an activist making a difference, raising awareness and helping families to get justice in this crazy world. We will be chatting with Ethel Tuesday September 3rd at 8 PM PST, and it promises to be a very interesting talk 00:28:00Because Women Are AmazingnoJustice System, families, societal problem, punishment, shameHas the American justice system gone crazy? it seems like it.
