Join us on May 13th at 7PM EDT for an intensive round-table discussion with top researchers from the Catholic University of America and the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences. When Mom Goes to War there is a ripple effect that is seen beyond the battlefield.

Thanks to a specialized research team comprised of doctorally-prepared active duty, retired Army nurses, a military spouse, a Navy psychiatrist and some doctoral students, important insight is being gained about successful and unsuccessful strategies used to maintain relationship between military mother and child, as well as understanding of the child's perception ---through a mother's eyes. Outcomes of such research is now leading to interdisciplinary approaches that expand the focus beyond wartime separations.

This leading-edge research team includes:

  • Janice Agazio, LTC (Ret), AN, Ph.D., CRNP, RN, The Catholic University of America
  • Meryia Throop, MAJ, AN, Kandahar Air Field, Afghanistan
  • Diane Padden, PhD, RN, Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences
  • Petra Goodman, COL (Ret), AN, The Catholic University of America
  • Annette Turner, MSN, RN, Doctoral Candidate, Catholic University of America
  • Shawna Greiner, LTC, USAF, Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences
  • Shannon Hillier, LT, Medical Corps USN, Navy Medical Clinic

From the onset, our vision at Because Hope Matters Radio has been to bring our listeners innovative leaders and entrepreneurs who are making a world of difference. Listen, call in and live-chat as we continue to magnify that vision.
