Join us on April 8th for a remarkable episode with our guest Mark Thompson, a Pulitzer Prize winning journalist. He serves as Washington Deputy Bureau Chief for TIME and has covered national security in Washington since 1979 and has been  a defense correspondent for TIME Magazine since 1994.

Thompson has discussed military affairs on The News Hour with Jim Lehrer and other PBS, CNN and BBC programs. He has been called to the Pentagon’s war colleges, Harvard and Georgetown (among others) to discuss military and journalistic matters. Thompson won the Pulitzer Prize for his series of articles on a helicopter design flaw that was blamed for killing 250 U.S. servicemen.

Thompson and Makekau collaborate on articles honoring military families for TIME’s Battleland Blog, moderated by Thompson. Makekau created Because Hope Matters Radio, together with Rob Harris to highlight organizations involved in military family matters, cancer and Alzheimer’s research, plus caregiver tools and tips.
