This week I welcome La-Verna Fountain to SANGOMA. What a story she has! La-Verna learned about love and conflict against the backdrop of the 1960s Civil Rights struggle.  She marched on Washington as a little girl, after Dr. King’s assassination, muddy and courageous but confused and bewildered by the complicated things happening in her tiny Pennsylvania town. In her own home, love and violence twined her family together, and the strength of the women in her family, which contributed to the conflict she experienced, also inspired her passion for fighting injustice. We will talk about how La-Verna came to embrace non-violence and eventually adopted conflict resolution as a path to bringing peace in her own work. Join us at 7:30pm
