I talked to one of them recently and she flat out told me she did not care about the whole colony only the hounds she wanted out. Her reasoning was that she is protecting herself from thinking about the horror of what is being done to the group. Isn’t that strange? I just shook my head on the other end of the phone and thought to myself, “what a waste case”. I quickly figured out she was going to be no help at all and only hamper my efforts to expose the creepy breeders and the other nefarious scum bags.  Why do people not do their homework & research the researchers? Are they afraid of what they will find out and it will screw with their self worth and misdirected feel good glow they get from helping one or two bassets? Howl does rescuing one hound from hell make you feel good?  I pointed out time and time again this colony is a factory for glaucoma.  They are breeding glaucoma into bassets and this rescue is standing by to collect them? Why is there such a disconnect with reality vs mentality? Here is lasted reject from the Colony. Miss Charlie. They bred glaucoma into her and then kicked her to the curb.  Some would say “well isn’t it better that she was not PTS?”  That is not the question that should be asked.  It should be, “what can we do to expose this research and get the BHCA to stop it!” When I look at Charlie I see Emma. I will never let Emma down and I will fight for justice. I am so sorry Miss Charlie that you have to be the victim of such ignorant, creepy, selfish, humans.  Bastards. 00:15:00Cat and Daisy Lynn RudertnoBassethoundtown,Blind,Basset,Colony,ResearchIt amazes me that a rescue group (HHBR) can be so misguided. A bit of what has happened in my life since the last episode. 2.) Phone call to anonymous. 3.) Cayenne of Hobbit Hill. 4.)  Slience from the BHCA So join me please and remember - I need more information!  These poor hounds depend on a Champion/Advocate!  ARE YOU ONE? Blind Basset Colony #4 Howllo and welcome to the 4th episode of.. THE TOP SECRET BLIND BASSET HOUND COLONY. Basset Rescues moan, groan and beg for money regarding homeless bassets but turn their back on the blind basset colony and let these hounds get abused and tortured. Now the colony breeding program is starting back up and many in the rescue world know all about it.  What is so sick is that big time players in the BHCA basically bred glaucoma into the breed over the course of 10 years. Some knew they had it in their line and did nothing but breed and sell sperm. Howl do I know that? Because I have proof.  As far as rescues go, if you choose to help hounds you cannot cherry pick howl you do it.You can't sit on your ass bemoaning the fate of your basset rescue while you know and cover up the facts of the blind basset colony. Like I said our basset hound community is very small and people talk. I really don't know howl or why Hound Haven Basset Hound Rescue thought they could keep the identity of the breeder with the colony "top secret". I guess that stuff worked prior to the internet but you can't keep secrets any longer.  Sharon begged me not to tell others that had puppies from Emma's litter that Emma had glaucoma. BEGGED ME!  Sharon revealed herself to me at that very moment. Now it is Emma's turn.  No more begging, just the hard, plain, honest facts.  I am not going to go away.  I guess they think they are more powerful than me but the old line holds true.  The pen/voice is mightier than the sword.  Stay tuned and join me for the 4th episode of..... Transparency Illuminates The Pathway To Accountability This blind basset hound colony is being held in secret and many folks that I know are involved. Some I don't know are involved. Dr. Gillian McLellan from the University of WI is now in charge of the colony & breeding has been ramped up.  At one point (very recently) the colony was in the process of being disbanded but more financial backing was found. So, what does this all mean? Years ago Iowa State was responsible for the colony. Then, University of Iowa took ownership but not really. According to Sinisa Grozdanic D.V.M., Ph.D., Dipl ACVO, (June of 2010)  "we still do not have any regulatory mechanisms available at this time to do a legal adoption, since all our dogs are owned by State of Iowa and US government." Note from Cat: Please go to my sub-blog and read the entire thing. It is long and it has taken me years to put together. Here is a link.  http://www.bassethoundtown.com/blog/attention-bobac-bassets-issues-heath-alert-glaucoma-in-their-line So, this is speculation but I think the colony has been with the same BHCA breeder or very close to that breeder for some time now. I think a basset rescue is working w/ that breeder in some cases. Now, the breeding in the colony is ramping up and I am sick and tired of it. Right now they need a hero and not the greedy pricks hiding behind them. Please support my research with information only. I need your help.  cat@bassethoundtown.com   00:14:00Cat and Daisy Lynn Rudertnoglaucoma, basset, hounds, colony, blindHowllo Fellow Hound Lovers and Welcome to the 3rd installment of...GLAUCOMA IN BASSET HOUNDS - BLIND COLONY USED FOR SECRET RESEARCH.
